This course leads to a Light Rigid licence which allows drivers to drive any truck or a bus, greater than 4.5 tonnes GVM, but not more than 8 tonnes GVM, plus a trailer of no more than 9 tonnes GVM; or a bus seating more than 12 adults.
This course leads to a Heavy Rigid licence which allows drivers to drive any rigid vehicle with three or more axles, including a truck or a bus, greater than 8 tonnes GVM, plus a trailer of no more than 9 tonnes GVM. This licence class is also applicable to an articulated bus.
This course is necessary to obtain a Heavy Combination Driver Licence. It includes systematically and efficiently controlling all vehicle functions, monitoring traffic and road conditions, managing vehicle condition and performance, and effectively managing hazardous situations.
This course involves the skills and knowledge required to obtain a licence to drive a Multi-Combination vehicle. A multi-combination (MC) licence is required to drive any B-double or road train.
