Warehousing Operations

What is the purpose of this course?

Certificate III in Warehousing Operations is intended for people who want to learn how to coordinate goods for distribution to customers. They will learn how to use inventory systems to conduct stock counts and apply product knowledge to organise receivals and dispatches.

This certificate is for:

  • forklift drivers - people who lift, stack and unstack articles and materials using diesel, electric, gas or petrol powered trucks equipped with fork attachments, load transport vehicles, or move raw materials and finished goods to processing or despatch areas of factories
  • store person - people who manage goods in and out, use inventory systems, perform stocktake and manage the supply and handling of goods
  • packers - people involved in racking, stocktake, picking and packing of products for shipment and distribution to customers

Licensing, Legislative, Regulatory Considerations

The transport and logistics industry is tightly regulated by a range of regulations, licence arrangements and codes of practice which pertain to many different aspects of operations including safety, health, hygiene, security, anti-discrimination, equal employment opportunity, quarantine, and customs and immigration.

Examples of regulations relevant to various standards include but are not limited to:

  • relevant state/territory roads and traffic authority driving regulations and licence/permit requirements including mass and loading regulations and state/territory oversize/mass pilot/escort permit requirement
  • fatigue management regulations and codes of practice
  • relevant state/territory road rules

Can a participant gain license?

Yes, RAISE Training is able to incorporate licensing as part of the course.

The types of licensing available include:

  • LF Class Forklift Licence
  • WP Class Elevating Work Platform Licence

Operators will be trained & assessed against the WorkCover competency standards by our Trainer and WorkCover accredited assessors. After the required standard of competency has been achieved the WorkCover Authority will issue the appropriate license.

What qualifications do participants receive upon completion of the course?
Participants receive a nationally recognised, competency-based qualification developed by industry as a benchmark for recruitment and training.

As part of the Australian Qualifications Framework these qualification are nationally recognised.

What is required in this Qualification?
A total of 18 units of competency are required to complete this qualification, consisting of 2 core units and 16 elective units.

A large range of units relevant to warehousing and storage industry are on offer to cover the diversity of the industry.

Certificate III in Warehousing Operations has a 24-month nominal term for a full time employee. Part-time employees (greater than 21 hours per week) can undertake this course with an increased term.
